I've started Reading The Read Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease and started following a book study. Of course I'm late to the party. LOL That is how I roll. I've been enjoying the book tremendously and have learned a lot just by reading the first chapter. The discussion in the first chapter was about vocabulary development and the importance of it in the early childhood stage. I love read alouds and I encourage my parents every year to read to their child everyday. Some do it and some don't. This year I'm going to try and incorporate more read alouds and really focus on vocabulary throughout. Here is a link to a discussion of the first chapter.
